This Flange Mandrel mounts and supports the flange die during the forming stroke, keeping the die aligned with the pipe centerline for a square, even flange. It is a supporting component rather than a forming surface itself, but a worn or loose fit here will show up as an uneven flange face. It is intended for shops running flange-forming tooling as part of their tube end finishing process. It is part of the M369 series, and is a good fit for shops standardizing their tube end finishing tooling.
