Mandrel – Plug Mandrel | 1.5 TOD x 0.028 wall

This plug mandrel is sized for 1-1/2″ (1.5″ decimal) tube at 0.028 wall thickness, sitting inside the tube during the bend to keep the wall from collapsing or flattening at the bender tooling radius. Because it is a solid plug rather than a linked ball mandrel, it is best suited to strong-walled tube bent around a large radius, where the wall has enough stiffness to hold its shape without the extra support of an articulated mandrel. It threads onto the mandrel rod at 1/2″ – 13 and is machined from steel for durability across repeat pipe bending cycles.
