Mandrel – Plug Mandrel | 0.4375 TOD x 0.035 wall

This plug mandrel is sized for 7/16″ (0.4375″ decimal) tube at 0.035 wall thickness, sitting inside the tube during the bend to keep the wall from collapsing or flattening at the bender tooling radius. Because it is a solid plug rather than a linked ball mandrel, it is best suited to strong-walled tube bent around a large radius, where the wall has enough stiffness to hold its shape without the extra support of an articulated mandrel. It threads onto the mandrel rod at #10 – 32 and is machined from steel for durability across repeat tube bender tooling cycles.
